About us

KU Lion Dance is a performing arts non-profit organization and an official student organization at the University of Kansas. Founded in 2019 by Kim Pham, the team has grown into one of the region’s most active cultural performance groups, dedicated to sharing the art of lion dance.
For seven years, KU Lion Dance has travelled across West Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa, performing at cultural festivals, university events, community celebrations, and private gatherings.

As both a performance troupe and an educational organization, KU Lion Dance is committed to preserving the heritage of lion dance and promoting Chinese culture throughout the Midwest. The team provides training for students, outreach for local communities, and performances that celebrate cultural pride, unity, and artistic excellence. KU Lion Dance continues to inspire new generations and strengthen the presence of cultural arts in the community.
